Faith, Fitness and Fellowship

Join us this Fall as Cross Train continues Faith, Fitness and Fellowship (register online):

Faith: We will continue to enjoy daily devotions and prayers as well as weekly blog postings, focusing on stewardship of the body and personal faith development.

Fitness: Strength Fit workouts are designed to challenge every muscle of the body. We go through circuits of strength training followed by cardio intervals which allow for great calorie burn and fitness gain. If you want to change your body, this is the workout for you! The other great advantage — Strength Fit works for every level of training from beginner to advanced. Register Online

Fellowship: Workouts are just more fun with other women, especially in the context of a Christian community. Our goal is to build each other up by encouraging one another, pushing each other when needed and accepting and loving one another. In each workout, we find that we work hard and have a great time doing it! To build this fellowship, we will also enjoy monthly Healthy Happy Hours, Monday optional walks and runs and Saturday Socials.

As the children go back to school, we will go back to training. Tuesday and Thursday classes begin on Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday and Friday classes begin on Wednesday, August 13. Two classes are available and you can alternate between the two:

Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 to 10:15 am

Wednesday and Friday 5:30 to 6:45 am

There will also be optional run and walk meetings on Monday mornings at 6:00 am.

Monthly fee: $50. You can register online or pay the first day of training but please rsvp to reserve your spot by contacting Brooke Today!

For those who cannot commit to training every day, join us for the day for $10 per session.

Summer training starts on Monday, June 2.  We will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:00 to 8:15 am at St. Peters Church in Lake Mary.

The goal of Strength Fit is to tone your body, increase your aerobic capacity, create power, strengthen your core and create better balance. Classes are designed for everyone from the very beginner to the advanced athlete. Weekly nutrition tips and recipes are provided.

September Strength Fit Schedule

Two Group Training Options:

  • Monday & Wednesday (Starts on Monday, 9/9/13) 5:30 – 6:45 AM Cost: $45   (includes 7 Training Sessions)
  • Tuesday & Thursday (Starts Tuesday, 9/3/13) 9:00 – 10:15 AM Cost: $50   (includes 8 Training Sessions)

Drop ins are always welcome for $10

All classes meet in the Family Life Center at St. Peters Church — 700 Rinehart Road in Lake Mary.

The Walk on Water 5k is Saturday, September 7

TRAINING SESSIONS:

Monday Training 5:30-6:45 AM  or 7:00-8:15 AM (Runners and Walkers)

Wednesday Training 5:30-6:45 AM  or 7:00-8:15 AM (Runners and Walkers)

Saturday, Run Clinic 7:30-9:00 am (Runners and Walkers)

Monday, Wednesday and Saturday trainings will continue through the first week of September and conclude with the 5k on September 7.

Training will include run and walk mechanics, distance training, nutritional training as well as strength training.

Cross Train Presents Strength Fit Boot Camp – Summer 2013!

* All levels of fitness and health are welcome! *

 Physical Training:

  • Workouts provide a mixture of cardio and strength exercises designed to burn calories, condition the heart, strengthen muscles and create balance
  • Nutrition tips including delicious and healthy recipes that can transform your body

Spiritual Training:

  • Daily devotions designed to build a strong faith and spiritual life
  • Friendships with other women provide encouragement to one another
  • Support, guidance and accountability from a coach keep you on track with your goals.

4 Training Options:

  • One Day: Saturday 7:30 to 9:00 AM: $50 for 6 weeks
  • Two Days: Monday and Wednesday 5:30 to 6:45 AM: $60 for 6 weeks
  • Three Days: M/W and Saturday:  $95 for 6 week session
  • As Needed: Daily training for drop in is $10 daily

6 week program: weeks of June 10, June 17, June 24, July 8, July 22, July 29 (June 3 week off, July 4 week off, July 15 week off)

New Season: The Donna!

Donna Training Begins on Tuesday, November 6 at 5:30 am!

The Donna half-marathon and marathon relay is 15 week training program. Training days are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30 to 7:00 am. These trainings will consist of interval training, strength training, running drills and boot camp style workouts. The goal of these runs is to build speed and strength while also learning good form to prevent injury. Saturday morning trainings will focus on safely developing distance. Saturday training will begin at 7:00 am.

New Aspects of The Donna Training:

  • Weekly blog postings with these tips and devotions.

Cost for the 15 week training program is $195. You do need to reserve your spot by Saturday, November 3. All levels of runners are welcome from very beginner to advanced. E-mail today to secure your training spot: Contact Brooke Holt!

Week one will consist of base training and taper workouts for those participating in the Miami Man. Week two of training will move into full workouts.

Ladies! I pray that each of you had a refreshing and active summer.   Now is the time for us to get back into training. Cross Train has some great opportunities to get in great shape both inside and out!

Saturday Boot Camps

8/25 is a Fundraiser Boot Camp for Cheyenne Hardy and her year long mission trip — Please come and support this amazing young woman and hear her story and mission.

 September and October Boot Camps St. Peters Church

This Fall, we will have a brand new opportunity.  There will be boot camps held every Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30 – 6:45.  While these boot camps are designed for runners and triathletes, anyone can benefit from them.  The goal is to provide a solid foundation of strength, balance and power to better prepare all athletes for the upcoming Donna and Danskin seasons. Cost $100 per month or $20 per session.

Beginner’s Running Group September 10 — October 15 at St. Peters Church

Brand New Option: A 6 week Beginner’s Running Group starts on Monday, September 10.  Sessions will run from 5:45 to 6:45 on Monday mornings.  The running group will focus on good running form, developing distance safely and efficiently and building community.  Please pass this information on to anyone who could benefit from such a group.  Cost is $85.

Donna Season November 13 — February 17 at St. Peters Church

Donna training for marathon, half-marathon and the marathon relay begins on Tuesday, November 13.  This group will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30-7:00.  These sessions will focus on running form, interval training and strength training.  Saturday trainings will begin at 7:00 am and will focus on developing distance.  The Donna marathon is on Sunday, February 17 in Jacksonville, FL.  The Donna Training is a 14 week program with 2 weeks off for holidays (training schedule provided for this time). Cost $195

Danskin Season March 2 — May 13 Locations will vary

The Danskin season will kick off on Saturday, March 2.  The training days are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30-7:00 and Saturday mornings start at 7:00 am.  This is a 10 week season ending with the Danskin triathlon on Sunday, May 13 at the Clermont Water Park.  More information to come!
