2015 Resolution

Looking to make some New Year’s Resolutions for 2015 that you can keep? Make the goal of joining Cross Train for the months of January and February as we take on the challenge of a new race!

Cross Train will take part in the Best Darn Race (altered just a bit 🙂 on Saturday, February 28 in downtown Orlando. The benefits of this race are numerous: first, Autism Society of Greater Orlando is the charity benefiting from this race. All of us know and love someone who has been affected by Autism. Second, there are 4 great race options on this one day: half marathon, 10k + 5k, 10k and 5k. Lastly, Orlando is a great venue and makes for easy travel!

Race Registration and Information: http://orlando.bestdamnrace.com. Registration is limited and prices continue to increase so register ASAP!

Training will begin on Monday, January 5 for the early morning group and Tuesday, January 6 for the latter morning group. Here are base runs needed for different races:

*half marathon — 6 miles
*10 k + 5k — 5 miles
*10 k — 3 miles
*5k — no base needed

Please note that you can walk or run the 10k and 5k so running experience is not necessary except for the 15k and half marathon.

Training times and days:

Monday and Wednesday 5:30 to 6:45 am
Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 to 10:15 am
Saturday 7:30 am

Fees:

3 days of training $75
2 days of training $50
1 day of training $30

* 3 days of training is highly encouraged; however, it is understood that children’s and spouse’s schedules often conflict with Saturday training. There is also the Saturday only option for those who cannot train during the week. The drop in option still exists for $10 on weekdays and Saturdays.

Distance training has always been her focus. Brooke is also trained as a USA Triathlon Coach. Along with walk and run training, there will be spiritual training, strength training, nutritional training and weekly e-mails with schedules and valuable tips for success.
